Community Kiosks

We’ve set up a network of Community Vital Information kiosks in communities that are deemed vulnerable to HIV/AIDS in partnership with service providers. These kiosks have helplines where community members can get support, advice, and information about HIV, GBV and STI prevention and care services both in person and online. The DEEPROOTS kiosks follow a successful kiosks and agents model which has been used by banks, telecom, and Fintech companies in Africa to bring banking and inclusive financial services to under-served communities through community-based agents operating in kiosks and stalls.

The kiosks are established and managed by Peer Community Advisors (PCAs) that are identified and selected by the communities.

At the kiosks, PCAs help facilitate conversations with the local social and sexual network about HIV prevention, life prospects, self-care, and sexual health through face-to-face, online, SMS or phone calls. The kiosks are designed with input from service providers to ensure communities can access accurate and stigma-free HIV prevention information at convenient times and locations. They provide timely and accurate HIV prevention information to communities.

The kiosks offer a safe space to access HIV information outside of clinics to reduce stigma and encourage preventive actions. PCAs identify candidates and connect them to sexual health services and HIV preventive care and support, especially those aged 15-24, encouraging them to join DEEPROOTS Community Circles. At all our kiosks, free condoms are available a 24 Hour basis, along with mobile services such as HIV and pregnancy testing kits.

Come visit our community kiosks for vital information and support on HIV/AIDS, Sexual Health, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV). These kiosks serve as safe spaces where you can access resources and assistance in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
