The DEEPROOTS Model
DEEPROOTS is a hybrid community and digital youth health system that connects adolescents and young people with trusted information, prevention services, and peer support.
The model operates through community information kiosks, trained Peer Community Advisors, mobile outreach, and digital platforms that provide young people with safe and accessible entry points for health information and services.
By bringing prevention information closer to communities and strengthening peer support systems, DEEPROOTS helps young people make informed decisions about their health and futures.

Communities We Serve
Youthplus works across communities in Wakiso District and is expanding the DEEPROOTS network to additional communities in Kampala, Mukono, and Kalangala.
By strengthening community-based systems and youth networks, the organization aims to ensure that more adolescents and young people can access trusted information and prevention services close to where they live.
Youth Leadership in Action
Young people are at the center of Youthplus’ work. Through training and mentorship, Peer Community Advisors support their peers by facilitating discussions on health, connecting young people to services, and creating safe spaces for learning and dialogue.
This peer-led approach strengthens trust within communities and helps young people access information in ways that are relatable and culturally relevant.
